Hi all,
Here is VR Sketch 27.2. This is a small update over release 27.1.
What’s new since release 27.1:
-
Added experimental support for showing videos instead of textures or image objects. You set up links to video files in Sketchup (by selecting a material or an image object and going in the menu Extensions -> VR Sketch -> Link a video). The video file or files must be in the same folder as the .skp file itself, or in a subfolder. They are not copied inside the Sketchup model; only a link is made. When you send the model to VR, however, the video is copied to the VR program and its animated content is used instead of the original texture it replaces. You also get the sound. There is no way so far to pause the video or move back or forward; the whole video should just loop back when it reaches the end. Note also that if you add or remove video links to a model currently visible in VR, the changes may not show up before you re-send the model to VR.
-
on the standalone Quest, when using hands instead of controllers, the pinching movement should now also detect when both hands are pinching together and work similarly to pressing both controllers’ grab buttons together.
-
fixes for editing the animation of dynamic components.
-
fixes in multiplayer about bogus orientation of other avatar’s controllers and hands. (You need all players to use VR Sketch version 27.2 or higher; in mixed cases, the controllers and hands are likely to not show up at all.)
-
fix for a couple of errors showing up in the Sketchup Ruby console.
Have fun,
